Synopsis: Goodreads
Tough and independent, 17-year-old Abby lets very few people into her inner circle. It’s common knowledge in her Kentucky town that she deals drugs, but not even her closest friends know why. But when a deal goes south and Abby’s suddenly in danger, she finds herself reluctantly forced to lean on daredevil Logan—a boy whose restless spirit matches her own.
Logan has his own reasons for wanting to keep Abby at arms’ length. But he never expected to find in her the one person who might help him face the demons he’s tried so hard to run from.
Together, Abby and Logan will have to make a decision: let their current circumstances weigh them down forever…or fight for the future they both thought was impossible.
Review: (5 stars)
One of the biggest mysteries throughout the Pushing The Limits series is Abby. She is always there, but we don’t ever know much about her. When I heard she will be getting her own story, I had to take full advantage of the situation. I had to find out the mystery that was Abby.
I have loved all of Katie McGarry’s books and her writing and due to this book, I love it a little bit more. Not only for being able to understand who Abby is and why she does what she does, but for all the wisdom I found upon reading.
She is a strong characters, maybe it was how she was raised that helped her. She goes through so much, just to keep going and doing what she needs to do. Being who she has to be instead of who she wants to be.
Katie McGarry has a way with her writing about children struggling with all kinds of different things while growing up, that keeps you hooked. Their lives aren’t always great, but if they keep going good things do happen. During those bad times, they have to find a way to deal to get to the good ones. Logan and Abby show you this. Logan was given an illness that he and his parents hate having to deal with, but it is a part of who he is, so he works around it. Abby was thrown into a life she never expected to live, but she does what she does to survive.
Overall, this is one of my favorite Katie McGarry books. It’s full of hardships and it may seem like you are struck, but things work themselves out the way they are meant to. That there is someone out there for you. No matter whom you are or what you do, there is someone who is meant to be yours and love you.
Who else loves Katie McGarry? I have read all of her books that are out except two and I shall devour them as soon as I can. I hope you enjoyed the review.
