Graduates of 2015!!!!

Just a little note...Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. I have been super busy and because of that very sleep deprived. Between school and home life, I have had no time to do anything, but what I need to do. Even no time to read, which is very sad.

Anyway, that's not what I wanted to talk about today. I wanted to talk about my little brother graduating Tuesday, May 26th. I'm so very proud of him. My mom couldn't make it, but I showed up, a friend I invited to come, my dad, my brother's girlfriend and her mom-mom. I saw his band mates as well.

I had a lot of fun. My friend and dad kept picking on me the whole time, so it was one of the best graduations I have been too. My dad video chatted with my mom the whole time so she could see my brother walk and his friends that we know.

I took some pictures and so did his girlfriends mom-mom and I wanted to show them to you.

I'm so very proud of my little brother making the first big step and graduating from high school. Life hasn't been the greatest to us, but he kept himself together and completed high school. Words can't explain how proud I am of him.

Friends

A topic was brought to my attention last week that I would like to talk about. It is about the time you spend talking to friends.

It may be days, weeks or months before I check up on someone because I'm always busy doing something, but I always check up on everyone. Last week, I pretty much was called a bad friend due to not checking up on someone enough. This got me thinking and examining all the relationships in my life and those I'm surrounded by.

You are not defined by how much or how often you talk to someone, about whether you are a bad friend. That isn't what makes you a bad friend. What makes you a bad friend is not being there for someone when they need you. You can be a good friend by not talking to someone for a while. Look at the relationship my dad has with his best friend. They can go months without talking and one day, one of them will pick up the phone and start talking, as if that time didn't pass.

Everyone has their own lives that they are living, just like I do. I can't be talking to someone constantly and neither can everyone else.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you agree or disagree?

Book Review: The Submissive by: Tara Sue Me

I thought today that I would post up a book review. I wrote this a few months ago, but due to anticipation of the new book in the series, I thought I would periodically post up the reviews of the current books in the series. Starting with the first one, of course.

Synopsis: Goodreads

Abby King has a secret fantasy.

New York knows Nathaniel West as the brilliant and handsome CEO of West Industries, but Abby knows he’s more: a sexy and skilled dominant who is looking for a new submissive. Yearning to experience a world of pleasure beyond her simple life as a librarian, Abby offers herself to Nathaniel, to fulfill her most hidden desires.

After only one weekend with the Master, Abby knows she needs more, and fully submits to Nathaniel’s terms. But despite the pleasure he takes in Abby’s willing spirit, the Nathaniel hidden behind the rules remains cold and distant.

As Abby falls deeper into his tantalizing world of power and passion, she fears that Nathaniel’s heart may be beyond her reach—and that her own might be beyond saving…

Review: (5 stars)

I found out that E.L. James got a lot of her ideas for Fifty Shades of Grey, so I had to read this as soon as possible.

Going into this I cleared my mind so that I wouldn’t compare the two and just enjoy the ride this book would take me on, though I did pick up on the similarities.

We meet Abby as she is going into Nathaniel’s office. She goes to his office fully aware of what she was getting herself into.

Nathaniel is a sophisticated and calm type of man. When Abby doesn’t follow a rule, he doesn’t flip out on her, he keeps himself calm. Abby is the type of character that knows what she wants and gets what she wants in a good kind of way. She is a character you can look up to because of her attitude towards what she wants and how she achieves to get that.

We get a look more in depth of what a dom/sub relationship is all about. Not only that, but we get a look into their private lives a bit more than just the story focusing on them the whole time. The chemistry between the two characters is great. Not only do they get along in Nathaniel’s lifestyle, but also on the other side of things and that’s nice to see.

The story was very well-written and loved the pace that it had. It was too fast, but wasn’t too slow either. We were able to get a good sense of the characters and their backgrounds. I’m glad to see where the author will take the characters and the story.

Season 2, Episode 3 (The Nightcomers)

I was finally able to find time to watch Sunday night's episode today. Not much happened, but it was an important episode.

This episode dealt with Vanessa Ives past

We get a look into who she went to to help her with who she is. On this journey, she comes across those who are called 'The Nightcomers'. The people who are coming after her in the present.

They are a coven of witches who want Vanessa because she is who 'He' wants. They have set out to find and get her for him.

Though, not much happened, it went into great detail of who Vanessa is today and how she became to know what she knows.

I thought that this episode was great. Eva Green is wonderful at playing Vanessa. It really showed in this episode how great she is. Showing all the emotion that she did.

This episode solely focused on her and I loved that we got to know more about her. The character Vanessa is a mystery, with  pieces slowly coming together with each episode.

I can't wait to see what is going to happen to this character and see if she makes it out in the end.

Has anyone watched this episode? If you have, what are your thoughts on the episode?

Imagine Dragons

One of my favorite bands, for a while now, has been Imagine Dragons. I love most of their music, well, all the songs that I have heard, I have loved. Their newest album (Smoke + Mirrors) I keep listening to it all on Spotify. I can't get enough of it. Lately, when I'm on my laptop doing something, it's the first thing I put on.

A friend of my brother's introduced him to this band and he had me listen to the song that he got introduced to because he thought I would like it. I fell in love right away. I don't know how to put into words how their music makes me feel. Listening to them, just makes me feel better. If I'm having a bad day or a situation is really bothering me and I listen to them, I feel a little bit better.

Their topics aren't always happy, but the music that goes along with their songs makes me want to dance, so I do. It just makes your body want to move.

Below are the songs that I listen to by them:

  1. Radioactive (Night Visions)
  2. It's Time (Night Visions)
  3. Demons (Night Visions)
  4. I Bet My Life (Smoke + Mirrors)
  5. Warriors (Smoke + Mirrors)
  6. On Top Of The World (Night Visions)
  7. Monster (Smoke + Mirrors)
  8. Shots (Smoke + Mirrors)
  9. Bleeding Out (Night Visions)
  10. Gold (Smoke + Mirrors)
  11. I'm So Sorry (Smoke + Mirrors)
  12. Ready Aim Fire (from Iron Man 3)
  13. Nothing Left To Say/Rocks (Night Visions)
  14. Battle Cry (Smoke + Mirrors)
  15. Who We Are (Smoke + Mirrors)
  16. Tip Toe (Night Visions)
  17. Smoke and Mirrors (Smoke + Mirrors)
  18. Round and Round (Night Visions)
  19. My Fault (Night Visions)
  20. Hopeless Opus (Smoke + Mirrors)
  21. Hear Me (Night Visions)
  22. Amsterdam (Night Visions)
  23. Every Night (Night Visions)
  24. Polaroid (Smoke + Mirrors)
  25. Friction (Smoke + Mirrors)
  26. The River (Night Visions)
  27. Cha-Ching (Night Visions)
  28. Working Man (Night Visions)
  29. Fallen (Night Visions)
  30. Summer (Smoke + Mirrors)
  31. Dream (Smoke + Mirrors)
  32. It Comes Back To You (Smoke + Mirrors)
  33. Trouble (Smoke + Mirrors)
  34. The Fall (Smoke + Mirrors)
As you can clearing see, I do actually love this band. I know the lyrics to all of these songs. Some more than others, though, since I listen to some more than others. There are maybe 5 or so songs not on this list.

Does anyone listen to this band? What are your thoughts on them? What are your favorite songs by them?

Season 6, Episode 22 (I'm Thinking of You All the While)

I was not prepared to watch this episode at all. I knew that things were going to happen that I wouldn't like and boy was I right.

This episode was so emotional. There were a lot of tears shed. Since I don't want to spoil anything, I can't say much. What I will say is it was a bittersweet episode. More bitter than sweet, but bittersweet nonetheless. It was bad news after bad news after bad news. It was a lot to handle, hence the crying. I felt so bad for so many of the characters. Their lives got so messed up due to one character causing all the damage. Thankfully, some good news did come out of it. One certain character is now dead. Thank goodness.

There was so much aftermath with what happened in the previous episode. We saw the full extent of the damage and plans that had been set in motion. Some of those plans we won't see until the next season.

A lot of this episode dealt with Elena leaving. The way they went about it is what made the episode more bitter, but sweet. These parts made me cry the most because we saw her saying goodbye to all her friends and family from past scenes. They left it open about Elena. That makes me happy since she is such a big part of the show.

For season 7, I'm worried for Damon and anyone that will be around him. The love of his life isn't physically with him and I don't know how he will handle that or if he even will handle it. But it can't be good anyway you look at it. Without Elena, I don't know how the show is going to be, but I'm still excited to see where the story is going to go and how the show will be without her.

What are your thoughts on the finale? Are you excited for the next season?

New Home.

For a while now I have been wanting to get my chinchilla Marshmallow a new and bigger home. I was finally able to do so and I'm so happy with it. I think he loves it as well. He has been exploring (getting used to the new layout) everywhere. It's so cute to watch. What he had before was two rat cages I had (they weren't being used) that I put together so he had a lot of space, but I felt he deserved something bigger. Below are a before and after:

Before
After

Since it is bigger, it takes up more space in my room, which bothers me due to my claustrophobia, but I will make it work. As long as he is happy, I'm happy. Here are pictures that go inside his new home:

Top
Bottom

I think he is going to have so much fun in all the new space. I want to get him some more toys for getting a new home. To treat him.

I hope you enjoyed seeing his new home.

Season 2, Episode 13 (Sunrise, Sunset)

I have always been interested in the medical field. I have actually taken medical classes in high school and want to have a side career in the medical field. So, I love medical shows.

I watched the first episode of the first season, but never continued watching it. But this season, I have seen most of. My parents were watching it one night and ever since then I watch every new episode that comes on.

This is a very intense show and it's one of the reasons why I love it so much.

I missed Monday night's episode, so I had to watch it online. I hated having to miss it, but I'm glad I was still able to watch it.

TC and Topher are in Afghanistan for this episode and the emergency center is understaffed with them being gone. We go back and forth between Afganistan and the emergency center.

With us going back and forth between these two scenes, we get a lot thrown at us.

With the emergency center being understaffed, it's crazier than usual, but I found that the characters adjusted well. They did their jobs doing what they can for the patients. While TC and Topher, trying not to get shot at, saving a friend of Tophers.

I was scared for TC and Topher during the whole episode. Who knows what could have happened to them over there.

The end of the episode was left on such a cliffhanger that I want to watch the season finale (on next Monday) right now, so I can see what is going to happen. I hope everything will turn out okay for everyone, but I'm sure the season finale will leave us hanging.

Does anyone watch this show?

Season 2, Episode 22 (Ashes to Ashes)

I started watching The Originals because I loved these characters when they were in The Vampire Diaries. I wanted to see how they were when they weren't part of the cast of The Vampire Diaries, so I decided to give it a try.

And I fell in love with the show right away. I loved the entire first season and the entire second season. It's just as addicting as The Vampire Diaries. You get attached to the characters and their lives.

They are back to a town that they considered home a long time ago and try to rebuild what they once had as a family. But of course, things never go the way anyone wants them to. There is constant bloodshed. Plans and betrayal. You don't know what is truth or what isn't. Whether someone is good or bad.

One thing, even at times it could be a lost cause, these sibling always come back to is family. It means the most to them after being together for centuries and enduring what their mother brought down onto them. No matter the betrayal that the siblings cause upon each other, they always stick together. Though Klaus daggers them. They are still there for him.

Onto the episode, since it was the second season finale.

In the previous episode, it seemed that Klaus was betraying everyone. If you know Klaus you would know that yes, he does betray his family, but he has reasons for doing everything he does. So I didn't believe he would outright betray everyone.

In this episode, we get to see what he was really up to. And boy was this episode a roller coaster. So many things happen. (I'm not going to go into detail because I don't want to spoil anything.) He figured out what needed to be done to get rid of the threat. Trying to get his family to be on his side and agree was the harder part. In the end, things work out the best you could expect. Klaus even showed raw emotion. He doesn't show emotion, often and when he does, I love seeing it. Yes, he is a bad guy, but he isn't at heart. He is just doing what he can for those he loves. He goes about everything in a bad way, but he does care.

The season didn't end on a major cliffhanger, but has left me with questions nonetheless. I can't wait until season three, so I can see what the characters are going to do after all that has happened to them.

Does anyone watch this? If so, how do you like seeing the Mikaelson's having their own show?

Season 6, Episode 21 (I'll Wed You in the Golden Summertime)

I missed watching this episode last week and I just found time yesterday to watch it. I have to take a minute and get my thoughts out there with what happened during the episode.

It is Jo's wedding and Elena and Bonnie are helping her with the rest of the preparations. But things don't go according to plan.

Now for what I want to talk about without spoilers.

Relationships are tested about where they are going to go with some of the characters. Either to try and fix what they have or thinking about the future.

With the characters doing their own thing, whether to try to save the day or something with relationships, it was a cute episode. I really loved it.

As I said, this is Jo's wedding and in typical Vampire Diaries form things go wrong. People get hurt. You know, the usual. In the end, mostly everything goes the way it should, but it gets shattered at the last minute by one character showing up and ruining it. It ends on a cliffhanger for them all and I'm scared for them for this week's season finale. I'm hoping things will turn out okay, but I have a feeling something bad is going to happen and is going to leave us fans and the characters devistated.

I'm not prepared for the season finale at all. Who ever is when it comes to this show. They always end it on such a cliffhanger that leaves us dying for the new season to start. Though I'm scared to see what is going to happen, I want to see what is going to happen. See where the writers have taken the story. See what is going to happen to some of the characters.

Anyone watch this show? If so, what did you think of this episode? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Movie Review: Avengers: Age of Ultron

Saturday night I went out with my brother and our friend to see Avengers: Age of Ultron. My brother and I are big on Marvel movies and go see each and every one of them in theaters together. It's a sibling thing we do.

When it got closer to the date of seeing the movie I wanted to find an Avengers shirt that I could wear to the movie. Friday I was able to look. I found one that is for the movie and I love it. Here are pictures:

Front
Back

I was the only one amongst my brother and friend that hasn't seen it because they saw it opening weekend. So they knew which parts I was going to be mad about, but didn't tell me because they didn't want to ruin the movie for me. When it got to those specific scenes, then they said something.

As always, when it comes to Marvel movies, it was fantastic. Every one I have seen, I have loved and this one is no different. With Marvel movies, there are a lot of explosions and lots of action and I would say that this met that criteria by the thousands. While, it had its explosions, it had happy and sad moments. Some of the happiest moments were so cute and I enjoyed them. Other happy moments, were funny and had me laughing. Though it made me laugh, it made me tear up as well. It's closer to the ending that it got to me with all that was going on. But you can't forget the emotion anger. I really wanted to slap some people.

I liked what they did with one of the characters. We learn things about the character that we didn't know and it was nice to see them do that. It made me like the character more. Not only do we learn more about one character, but the relationships between these characters are explored a bit. They go more in depth with them in this movie, than the last one. It added a little bit to the storyline.

Overall, I really enjoyed this movie. The storyline was fantastic and I can't wait to see where they take the story in the next Marvel movie that will continue it.

Have any of you seen this movie? Are any of you fans of the Marvel universe?

Meet My Books! (Part 1)

I have decided that I shall show you all the books that I own. It is a lot, so it took me quite a bit of time to take pictures of them. I currently own 344 books, but I have a pre-order that will be coming and with that pre-order a free ebook. Out of those 344 books, 131 are TBR books. First off, here is an overview of my shelf.

I double row my books so that I have more space since my room is very small. I don't have room currently for a second shelf, so I make due with this one that my best friend helped me get. Due to her I don't mind that it is white.

Here is my little display of books and items that I have on top of my shelf.

To keep this post short, I'm going to do this in parts. That way not only to keep the post short, but to not overwhelm you with lots of pictures at once. So over the next few days the other parts will go up.

I hope you enjoyed seeing part one. Have any of you read any of these books? If not, do you want to read any?

Reading Habits Book Tag!

I wasn't tagged to do this, but my friend Heavenly Books posted this up on her blog and it seemed fun to do, so I have decided to do it as well. Grown Up Fan Girl is who created this tag. Here goes:

Question 1: Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
Answer: I normally read on my bed, but I do have a bean bag chair that I read on as well. That's for when I'm in my room. In the living room, I read on the couch on my spot.

Question 2: Bookmark or a random piece of paper?
Answer: I have always used a bookmark.

Question 3: Can you stop reading anytime you want or do you have to stop at a certain page, chapter, part, etc.?
Answer: It depends on the situation. If I have to go do something I either finish the paragraph I'm on of I finish the page. But if I'm going to go to bed, I have to finish the chapter before I do.

Question 4: Do you eat or drink while reading?
Answer: This also depends. Normally, yes, I do both while reading. But if I'm glued to a book, then I forget to eat or do anything. Someone has to really has get my attention in order for me to do something or I won't do it because I lose time. It's just me and the book and the rest of the world isn't there.

Question 5: Can you read while listening to music/watching TV?
Answer: Most of the time while I am reading I'm listening to music. It helps me concentrate on what I'm reading. The only time I'm not listening to music is if I'm watching TV and reading. But with some shows, I can't read and watch them.

Question 6: One book at a time or several at once?
Answer: Typically, I only read one at a time. The only time I read several at once is if I have to.

Question 7: Reading at home or everywhere?
Answer: I read everywhere. I always have a book with me because I never know if I will have time to read. If I'm almost done reading the one, then I shall bring two with me.

Question 8: Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Answer: Silently in my head. Very rarely will I read something out loud. When I do it is because I'm repeating something I found funny that a character said and I'm laughing while I read it again.

Question 9: Do you read ahead or skip pages?
Answer: I'm known for skimming pages ahead. Meaning. If there is an intense scene happening and looks like it won't end well, I skim read ahead to see how it ends. Then, I will go back to where I was and read what happens. I do it more than I should.

Question 10: Breaking the spine or keeping it new?
Answer: I try my best to not break the spines so that they look new. But with, some I can't help it because of the book itself or I have read the book(s) so many times.

Question 11: Do you write in books?
Answer: No, I don't normally. The only time I do is if it is school related, such as the textbooks my online school mails me to do a course. But my own personal books, I don't write in them.

I hope you guys had fun reading this. Do you do some of the same things as I do? Let me know if you do.

Katie McGarry

I would like to take a minute to talk about my favorite YA author Katie McGarry. I have all of her books that are currently out and have read all of the books she has written so far, except Breaking the Rules (just received it yesterday.) Below are all of her books, except for the ebooks from my book collection.

I wanted to make this post to fangirl about what happened last night. I posted a picture up on my Instagram of the book I received in the mail yesterday and bookmarks I received from her last week and she liked my photo. I have certain photos that I post from my Instagram to my Twitter and I posted this one up on Twitter. She saw everything I tagged her in and now follows me on both of those accounts and even tweeted me. In a matter of a few minutes all of this happened and I was fangirling so much since my FAVORITE YA author liked photos of mine, follows me and tweeted me. I'm still not over that this happened. I took screenshots of it so that I can always see that it actually happened. I wanted to share it here.

Can we just take a moment...I can't believe this actually happened.

On a side note, I can't wait to read Breaking the Rules and her new book Nowhere But Here. I have already pre-ordered it and due to pre-ordering it and submitting a form saying I have, I will receive Abby and Logan's story in ebook form for free. It's an exclusive offer and I can't wait to be able to read both.

I will read anything that Katie McGarry writes. I love her writing so much and the characters that she creates.

Have any of you read her books or want to? What are your thoughts?

Season 2 Begins!

Season 2 has finally begun.

I have a huge love for the Victorian era and will watch or read anything that takes place during that time. I love London and anything that deals with the supernatural as well. Due to these things, when I first saw a trailer for the first season, I knew I had to watch it because it was right up my alley. I have no words for how much I loved that season, besides that I really loved it. The story and the characters were wonderful. The second season just premiered on May 3rd. The closer it got to this date, the more excited I got. I don't have Showtime for my tv so I had to watch it on their website yesterday and boy did I enjoy it. This premier has made my love for the show grow. It's written well, which just makes the show addicting. The performances from the actors and actress's are wonderful.

So far, it looks like we will get a deeper look into Ms. Ives past a bit more and that's exciting. She is such a mystery. During the first season we got a bit of who she is and I enjoyed that, so I'm looking forward to learn more.

During the first episode a song stuck out to me. It gives off a creepy feel and I fell in love with it. The song is The Unquiet Grave. It's an old English song and has many covers. The cover that was in the first episode (and used in the trailer for this season) is sung by Hellen McCrory. I was only able to find the part that was in the episode and the trailer, but I hope a full version will be released of it, so that I can download it.

I can't wait to see where this season will take us. Does anyone else watch this show and if so, what do you think of it? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Moonie.

My first post I talked about all of the pets that I have. All of those who live in my room at least. I mentioned that my one boy rat Moonie wasn't doing well and who I thought wasn't going to be around much longer. Well, I hate to say this, but I had to put him down today. He went downhill so fast. He was blind and started to adapt to that, but I think old age caught up to him. I have had him since August, because my cousin gave him to me and another boy of hers (has already passed.) He was such a sweet boy and very curious. I will always miss and love him like I do with all of my pets that pass. Here are the only pictures I was able to take in the short amount of time that I have had him.

I wish I would have been able to get more pictures of him than this, but I'm also glad I at least have these. My favorite one of him is the last photo. He looks so cute. I have lost so many pets over the years. Even though I have, it never gets any easier to lose one. They are family to me and I love each and everyone one of them.
