Book Review: Chasing Impossible by: Katie McGarry

I know I haven't made a post in quite a while and I'm sorry for that. I know I keep saying that things are going on with me and it never seems to get better to where I'm fully back, but I'm working my hardest to be back and one day I will be. But until then, I'll post when I feel up to it and I hope that is okay with you guys. Anyway, onto my point. A book review for one of my favorite authors.

Synopsis: Goodreads

Tough and independent, 17-year-old Abby lets very few people into her inner circle. It’s common knowledge in her Kentucky town that she deals drugs, but not even her closest friends know why. But when a deal goes south and Abby’s suddenly in danger, she finds herself reluctantly forced to lean on daredevil Logan—a boy whose restless spirit matches her own.

Logan has his own reasons for wanting to keep Abby at arms’ length. But he never expected to find in her the one person who might help him face the demons he’s tried so hard to run from.

Together, Abby and Logan will have to make a decision: let their current circumstances weigh them down forever…or fight for the future they both thought was impossible.

Review: (5 stars)

One of the biggest mysteries throughout the Pushing The Limits series is Abby. She is always there, but we don’t ever know much about her. When I heard she will be getting her own story, I had to take full advantage of the situation. I had to find out the mystery that was Abby.

I have loved all of Katie McGarry’s books and her writing and due to this book, I love it a little bit more. Not only for being able to understand who Abby is and why she does what she does, but for all the wisdom I found upon reading.

She is a strong characters, maybe it was how she was raised that helped her. She goes through so much, just to keep going and doing what she needs to do. Being who she has to be instead of who she wants to be.

Katie McGarry has a way with her writing about children struggling with all kinds of different things while growing up, that keeps you hooked. Their lives aren’t always great, but if they keep going good things do happen. During those bad times, they have to find a way to deal to get to the good ones. Logan and Abby show you this. Logan was given an illness that he and his parents hate having to deal with, but it is a part of who he is, so he works around it. Abby was thrown into a life she never expected to live, but she does what she does to survive.

Overall, this is one of my favorite Katie McGarry books. It’s full of hardships and it may seem like you are struck, but things work themselves out the way they are meant to. That there is someone out there for you. No matter whom you are or what you do, there is someone who is meant to be yours and love you.

Who else loves Katie McGarry? I have read all of her books that are out except two and I shall devour them as soon as I can. I hope you enjoyed the review.

Book Review: Of Monsters and Madness by: Jessica Verday

I know I have already made a post today, but I have been meaning to write this review and get it up, but life has been getting in the way. Without anymore waiting, here is my review.

Synopsis: Goodreads

A romantic, historical retelling of classic Gothic horror featuring Edgar Allan Poe and his character Annabel Lee, from a New York Times best-selling author.

Summoned to her father's home in 1820's Philadelphia, a girl finds herself in the midst of a rash of gruesome murders in which he might be implicated. She is torn romantically between her father's assistants-one kind and proper, one mysterious and brooding-who share a dark secret and may have more to do with the violent events than they're letting on.

Review: (4.5 stars)

I love Jessica Verday, so I was excited hearing about Of Monsters and Madness. Couldn’t wait to dive in and experience a new world from her.

A friend told me that Jessica Verday will be adding new things to the story and republishing it before publishing the sequel, but I wanted to read it as it is now before the new version comes out.

By the cover I got a sense that the story was going to be creepier than it actually was. I was a little disappointed. It was more of a drama/mystery to me. Maybe because not much is creepy to me for my love of horror movies. I don’t know. With having said that, I still really enjoyed the story. It was still captivating.

I’m a fan of Edgar Allan Poe, which made me that more excited. The way Jessica Verday included his story into her own was perfect. The twist of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde added to the suspense. I love how it all came together. It didn’t ruin the story, but added to it.

One thing that I love about Jessica’s writing is how fast paced her books are. It makes the story go by fast, but it keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Overall, I can’t wait for the next book. Whenever it may come out. I am left with so many questions that I really want answered. You go through so many emotions and I want to see where they will lead you. The next book needs to come out soon. That way I can continue to ride this crazy story.

Season 7.

I'm going to make a general post about this season so far. Not a particular episode like I usually do.

This season  doesn't have Elena as part of the story. Characters talk about her every now and then, but the character isn't physically in the show. I miss Elena being part of the crew, but I still think that the show is great without her. It now focuses on the other characters pasts and stories.

Some episodes flash three years into the future to show us what is happening to the characters. Where they end up. I like this, but it also annoys me at the same time. They only give little bits and pieces, so I'm left with many questions about what happened to get them to the point that they are in.

Damon and Stefan are facing a lot due to their mother. She is causing them problems that are unneeded. Instead of standing with her sons, she is fighting against them.

I don't want to go into too much detail on what has been happening this season because I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't seen anything yet.

For those who have seen this season so far, how are you liking it? Are you enjoying it as much as I am? If not, why?

All Hallows Eve!

If you guys don't know, Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday of the year. There is no other holiday that I feel most connected with. Just something about the holiday that makes me feel good and myself. I'm myself every other day of the year, but Halloween gives me this feeling. i can't explain it. You can call me weird, but I'm just saying what I feel.

Anyway, onto the true reason for this post. Halloween is tomorrow. Not too long actually until it is. I'm sitting here staying up all night watching movies that I love that are horror or connects somehow to Halloween. I'm going to be tired, but it is a small price to pay for doing something that I want to do.

Tomorrow one of my best friends (he is more like a brother to me) are hosting a Halloween party. It will be a barbecue and bon fire type thing. I'm heading over there tomorrow morning to help him set up and everything before people start to show up. It will feel good to be around people I love and get along with so well.

Does everyone have their costume already all together? I know what I want to be. I just have yet to get all the pieces for it. I'm going to be a 60's hippie. It's not a far stretch from who I am. I swear that I would have fit perfectly in that time. Tomorrow I shall post up pictures of me in my costume and anything else I want to show from the party.

I hope everyone has a great Halloween. Do you guys have any plans for the big day? If you do, I would love to hear about them.

Book Review: Catacomb by: Madeleine Roux

This is the third of a trilogy, if you want to check out the first it is called Asylum. This trilogy is perfect to read for this month.

Synopsis: Goodreads

Sometimes the past is better off buried.

Senior year is finally over. After all they’ve been through, Dan, Abby, and Jordan are excited to take one last road trip together, and they’re just not going to think about what will happen when the summer ends. But on their way to visit Jordan’s uncle in New Orleans, the three friends notice that they are apparently being followed.. And Dan starts receiving phone messages from someone he didn’t expect to hear from again—someone who died last Halloween.

As the strange occurrences escalate, Dan is forced to accept that everything that has happened to him in the past year may not be a coincidence, but fate—a fate that ties Dan to a group called the Bone Artists, who have a sinister connection with a notorious killer from the past. Now, Dan’s only hope is that he will make it out of his senior trip alive.

Review: (4 stars)

The way Sanctum ended, I really wanted a third book. When I found out that one will be coming out, I became very excited. I wanted to know more and see where the story was going to go.

I loved Asylum and Sanctum, I didn’t like Catacomb as much as I did those. I have some problems with this one. I found this to still be creepy, but nowhere near as creepy as the others. I was a little disappointed by that. The pictures helped with the creep factor, just not the story.

The characters changed as well. I found Abby to be annoying and Jordan to be frustrating. Dan doesn’t help the situation by dragging them into more of his family’s history. Abby is all concerned about the project she is working on than her friends. They go on a road trip to help Jordan move, not go other places.

One final thing; the ending. It wasn’t much of an ending. More still could be written. It was ended on a cliffhanger; when it is the third of a trilogy. That bothers me a lot.

Besides that, I still really enjoyed this. Mysteries arise that Dan and his friends investigate. That deal with the town of New Orleans. A town that is known for its hauntings, which added to the creep factor as well and I appreciated that.

We finally learn more about his birth parents. I was fascinated by what they did and what happened to them. Dan digs up all he can about them so he can try and get to know them. Learn about his family history and why all these things keep happening to him.

Overall, Catacomb wasn’t the greatest ending for a trilogy; I want more from it. Though it had its’ issues I still found it to be quite enjoyable. I’m left with answers that I want answered. Maybe Madeleine Roux will write a novella that takes place after the ending.

I hope you enjoyed this review and that you will check out the trilogy.

Season 7, Episode 1 (Day One of Twenty-Two Thousand, Give or Take)

I may be 20 (almost 21), but I still love this show. I'm a fangirl and a nerd, what can I say?

The way season 6 ended, it left me heartbroken. I haven't been very patient in waiting for the 7th season. I started to get antsy when the season premiere got closer and closer.

Where to start...with Damon. That's a good place as any. He misses Elena a butt load. Seeing Bonnie, is such torture for him since Elena and Bonnie are linked. I'm not going to go into detail in case there are some who haven't seen the episode.

Damon and Alaric are away together, just being there for each other after all that has happened to one another. Bonnie being their baby sitter of sorts.

While they are away, so much goes down in Mystic Falls. I don't know what the future holds for the town, but I'm eager to see what happens, whether it being good or bad.

We get introduced to new characters and I can already see that they are going to cause a lot of problems for everyone. How bad? We shall see.

Who enjoyed this episode? Who didn't? Who wants Elena to come back? I know I do.

Scream Queens

This year I decided not to start watching a new show, but that didn't happen. I got trapped into watching Scream Queens. So many people i know have started watching it and tell me how much they enjoy it, so I finally caved and binge watched all the available episodes. Now I am waiting on next weeks episode.

I must say, when I saw the commercials, I was intrigued, but I didn't want to be sucked into watching another show. As you know, that didn't happen. I am hooked.

This show deals with a sorority house, but there are murders being conducted. To make it even better, it isn't a serious show. Some of the characters are down right comical and so are some of the scenes. You can't take this show seriously and that is what I love about it. Not only that, but Jamie Lee Curtis is one of the main characters. It makes it that much better.

Being someone who loves to laugh and loves anything horror, how could I not love it?

Do any of you watch this show? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

American Horror Story

In time for the new season starting, I thought I would take a minute to talk about all the past seasons and the new season. Plus, this show is perfect for the month of October.

When I first heard about the concept for this show I knew I had to watch it. Once I started, I knew that I couldn't stop. A show that each season dealt with a new concept, but also had the effects of a movie, how could you go wrong?

Season 1: Murder House

The start of the addiction that is known as AHS. A family moves into a house that is known as "The Murder House" and you can guess why. Needless to say, the fate of the current family is sealed. Going through the house we saw ghosts from the past people who lived there. It added to the creep factor seeing interaction between ghosts and family.

Season 2: Asylum

I'm a huge fan of asylum's, especially ones that are creepy. The creep factor of this asylum is high. This season was very well done, I found. We went back and forth between the past and the present. While in the past, we got to see what the doctors did to patients, how they treated them. Many horrible things happened and it was fascinating how the present is a result of the past. The devil even made an appearance.

Season 3: Coven

I love witches and New Orleans, so I couldn't wait for this season. I wasn't disappointed. Not my favorite season, but it was still great none the less. Teens going to a "school" to see who the next "supreme" witch would be. Discovering who had what power and seeing how they became aware of them. Not as scary as the other two seasons, but interesting.

Season 4: Freak Show

This was my least favorite of all the seasons, but I still really enjoyed it. I did enjoy the early sixties feel of the freak show and the people who exist because of genetics. I found it to be interesting how those outcasts of society made a living. This season showed you how each season does connect to one another; just have to see the pieces fall into place.

Season 5: Hotel

I'm so excited for this season. I have heard so many good things about it and the little teasers catch my attention each time. It seems it will be a really good season. Plus, Lady Gaga is a character in this season. I love her and can't wait to see how she brings her character to life.

Are any of you fans of this show? If you are, are you ready for the new season starting tonight? I know I am.

Hocus Pocus

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I just wanted to make a very quick post about a Halloween movie that I have seen hundreds of times. One that I will most likely see hundreds more times.

Growing up, one of my favorite Halloween movies was "Hocus Pocus". To this day, it is still one of my favorite movies. Each October, I wait for ABC Family to play it and I watch it each time it is on. Recently, I got it on DVD, so now I may watch it whenever I want to and that makes me happy, but seeing it every October is a tradition for me.

This movie is such a classic. When I heard they have finally decided to make a second one after all these years, I became excited. I have always wanted a sequel because I loved the first one so much. I hope it is just as good as the first or better.

What is there not to like about this movie? That's right, nothing. It is fantastic all the way around. If you haven't seen this movie, then you have been living under a rock your whole life and I highly recommend that you watch it as soon as you are able to.

Who else has grown up with this movie? It is a tradition for you as well to see it every Halloween?

Movie Review: Hotel Transylvania 2

I haven't done a movie review in a long while, so since I saw one last night I thought I would review it, plus it fits in for this month. The movie I saw was "Hotel Transylvania 2".

Review

I was trying to be patient while waiting for "Hotel Transylvania 2" to come out. I loved the first one and was hoping the sequel would be just as good. Sequels most of the time aren't as good or better than the first, but I must say that this was just as good as the first.

We explore the humans being a part of the monsters world more. Both monsters and humans become more accepting of each other. Technology makes an introduction to the hotel and the monsters lives as well.

Mavis and Jonathon start their lives together and I love seeing that. Monsters and humans coming together and starting a life. Times are changing for them in a beautiful way.

During the changing times, we meet Vlad. Dracula's father. He is still in the times of scaring the humans and living away from them. But in the end, he becomes accepting of the humans because he realizes they are a part of his family.

This movie represented people who are different coming together and finding love and making it work between them. You may be different from your partner, but there is always love.

Overall, it was a cute and funny movie. For me, it was great and I want them to do a third one. If you saw and loved the first one, then I recommend that you go out and see the second. You won't be disappointed.

I hope you guys liked this review. Did you see the first one? If you did, did you like it? Do you want or have you seen the second?

Book Review: The Graveyard Book by: Neil Gaiman

I haven't done a book review for a while for you guys, so I have decided to post this one. I think it fits into this month.

Synopsis: Goodreads

After the grisly murder of his entire family, a toddler wanders into a graveyard where the ghosts and other supernatural residents agree to raise him as one of their own.

Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn't live in a sprawling graveyard, being raised and educated by ghosts, with a solitary guardian who belongs to neither the world of the living nor of the dead. There are dangers and adventures in the graveyard for a boy. But if Bod leaves the graveyard, then he will come under attack from the man Jack—who has already killed Bod's family . . .

Beloved master storyteller Neil Gaiman returns with a luminous new novel for the audience that embraced his New York Times bestselling modern classic Coraline. Magical, terrifying, and filled with breathtaking adventures, The Graveyard Book is sure to enthrall readers of all ages.

Review: (5 stars)

I have heard nothing but good things about Neil Gaiman. I was excited and looking forward to reading my first book by him.

A few of my friends told me how much they loved The Graveyard Book and I couldn’t wait to dig in.

As soon as I started, I was intrigued and hooked. I found the story to be fascinating.

One thing that I really loved, were the illustrations. I love to draw, but I’m not a good drawer, but I love to marvel over what other people can draw. Plus, I love books that include illustrations into the story. For me, it adds to the story.

Bod is quite the character. He grows up in a graveyard with spirits and others teaching him, protecting him and taking care of his needs. As he grows, he learns a little from his guardian about what happened to him when he was a baby. Grown, he searches for answers. These answers lead to people coming to find him. He protects his home in the process, the graveyard.

The ending, I found this sad. Bod is grown, has to leave and make his way in the world. That means leaving behind all that he has ever known.

Overall, I really enjoyed The Graveyard Book. A story that I have never read about before and I loved it. Seeing originality and outside the box is rare, but this book definitely has it. It was nice to see. I recommend this to everyone who likes different.

First Day of Halloween.

I know it has been a long time since I have made a post and I'm sorry for that. I'm going to try and make posts more frequent.

Today, I would like to talk about Halloween. You guys don't know this (though some of you might), my favorite holiday of all time is Halloween. Which today for me is the start of Halloween. The whole month of October is Halloween for me. Well, to be honest, every day is Halloween, but October feels like Halloween in the weather.

There is so much that I love about Halloween. The decorating, the horror movies, the dressing up, the parties, the feel of the air and you can't forget the candy. You can't forget the original meaning of Halloween, which draws me the most to this holiday.

Because I'm a reader and a movie buff, it's the best time to read horror/creepy books and watch horror movies. I love to watch horror movies in the dark and curled up in blankets. My all time favorite horror movie is Rose Red. It's a long movie, but the best. I'm excited to reading a few of the horror type books that I have. Not a lot scares me anymore, but I still have a great time reading those types of books and watching those types of movies.

What are your favorite horror movies? Do you love Halloween? What is Halloween to you?

Life Update: 9/4/15

I haven't made a post on here in such a long time, so I'm making one now to catch you guys up.

I'm going to start off by saying that I was in a relationship for a bit and it ended a little bit ago. I'm broken up about it and I'm having a hard time to be okay again.

Issues that I have have been getting worse as well and it all is becoming too much for me all at once. i want to find a therapist so they can help me sort out everything that is going on in my head.

On top of that I have my first job and first car. I should be really happy about both of those things, but my depression has gotten so bad. I don't want to get out of bed anymore. It has become extremely difficult for me to get out of bed. I have to force myself up. Not only that, but my back issues that I have had since I was 12 have recently gotten a whole lot worse. My job just makes it feel worse. I went to the doctor and they gave me muscles relaxers, but they really aren't helping. All I know is I'm in extreme amounts of pain and I can barely move.

Due to my depression, i have lost interest in school work. I'm so close to finishing the last of this certificate, but I can't focus enough to finish so I can pursue what I want to.

I need to take a step back and get myself and my life back in order and I don't know where to begin. i need so much help. I'm hoping at the end of this month that I will be able to go visit my best friend for a few days. I think that being away for a while will do me a lot of good. To clear my head so I can come back and deal with everything that I need to.

Besides all of that, I have decided to write a book. So many things have been happening and it has been making my mind go in crazy directions that thoughts just need to be written down, so I write. I have been writing little passages about all kinds of things that I have learned in life. I don't have a name for my book yet because it hasn't come to me. I have titles for each passage as well and some of them are untitled as well. A friend of mine said I should post up each passage for you guys to read, but I think they are written badly so I don't know if I'm going to or not. If you guys would like to see what I have written so far, than I will be more than happy to share them with you. Let me know in the comments.

I'm sorry I have been away for so long. I will try and be better about it, but I have been trying to stay away from all social media or anything that takes a lot of my time, so I can focus on me and getting myself better. I hope you guys can understand.

I hope you all have been doing well. If you are going through a rough patch like I am then just know that everything will work itself out the way it is supposed to.

Book Review: The Collar by: Tara Sue Me

The time is finally here. The release of "The Collar". I have been anticipating for this book for so long. Now I'm anticipating for "The Exhibionist".

Synopsis: Goodreads

Nathaniel and Abby are struggling to navigate the challenging waters of their own relationship, when they get a surprising phone call from their partners in play, Dena and Jeff, who are in need of a helping hand…

Seven years ago, blonde, beautiful lawyer Dena Jenkins was tired of her carefully controlled life. Desperate for something exhilarating to help her escape the pressures of her demanding job and her senator father, she joined a steamy, local BDSM club as a submissive. There she met brooding Dominant, Jeff. The attraction between them was undeniable, and, despite Dena’s doubts, they couldn’t stay away from each other.

Except, as the years have passed, their blazing connection has proven difficult to maintain. Dena and Jeff have a history they’d rather forget, but Dena can’t let go of the past, and Jeff is ready to move across the country to give her space. Now, to save their passion, they’ll have to rediscover what it means to trust each other—and give themselves to each other completely…

Review: (4.5)

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the next book in “The Submissive” series. I was hooked from the first page of the first book and have stuck with the characters.

I was a little disappointed with this book. “The Collar” focuses on two characters from “The Enticement” and not on Abby and Nathaniel. Abby and Nathaniel barely appear. They appear here and there and that’s it. It doesn’t focus on them. I feel that if Tara Sue Me wanted to write about the characters that “The Collar” focuses on then she should have written a different book instead of continuing this series that is about Abby and Nathaniel. I wanted to read about them and not the characters I did read about.

With having said that, I did enjoy the story and the characters. Jeff and Dena were introduced to us as characters from Delaware from “The Enticement”. Their story is explained by going through the past and the present. How they met, what happened to them and where they are at now. They went through a trauma which caused them to break up. We follow their actions of trying to fix their relationship and hopefully getting back together.

Jeff comes off as a guy you don’t want to mess with. He is always wearing a stern expression. Dena is a strong willed woman. She knows what she wants and she takes it. They work beautifully together. As with every relationship, they have their problems, but they work through them one way or another.

Overall, though I’m disappointed Abby and Nathaniel’s story didn’t continue, I enjoyed reading about Jeff and Dena. I’m looking forward to what the next book will be about.

Book Review: Storm by: Amanda Sun

I don't post my YA reviews on my blog because they get posted up on my best friend's blog (a button to them is up on my blog), but a good friend of mine wanted me to post my review for this book and I said I would. At the end, if you are interested, I will have links to my reviews to the other books in the trilogy, which includes the novellas.

Synopsis: Goodreads

After almost a year in Japan, Katie Greene has finally unearthed the terrible secret behind her boyfriend Tomohiro's deadly ability to bring drawings to life—not only is he descended from Kami, the ancient Japanese gods, but he is the heir to a tragedy that occurred long ago, a tragedy that is about to repeat.

Even as the blood of a vengeful god rages inside Tomo, Katie is determined to put his dark powers to sleep. In order to do so, she and Tomo must journey to find the three Imperial Treasures of Japan. Gifts from the goddess Amaterasu herself, these treasures could unlock all of the secrets about Tomo's volatile ancestry and quell the ink's lust for destruction. But in order to complete their quest, Tomo and Katie must confront out-of-control Kami and former friend Jun, who has begun his own quest of revenge against those he believes have wronged him. To save the world, and themselves, Katie and Tomo will be up against one of the darkest Kami creations they've ever encountered—and they may not make it out alive.

Review: (4.5 stars)

“Ink” became one of my favorite trilogies right away. I loved the setting, story and characters. But now the trilogy is over. I’m sad that it is over, but happy because of how great of a ride these books take you on.

I have been anticipating “Storm” since I read “Rain”. The way things ended, left me wanting more.  But I had to wait. The time finally came that I could read how everything will turn out for the characters.

The ink has been affecting Katie more than it ever did. She starts to have nightmares that the Kami have. The closer the time comes for the showdown between Tomo and Jun gets the more everyone is affected by it. Tomo loses control more and more.

While Katie is trying to come up of ways to solve their problem, her dad decides to make an appearance into her life after seventeen years. He heard about what happened to her mom and wants to say how sorry he is for what he did. Her dad only made a small appearance. I would have liked him to have had a bigger role.

Overall, it was a bittersweet ending. I felt that the pace was a little slow, but a lot of things were happening. I’m not completely satisfied with how everything ended because I want more to the story, but things were wrapped up nicely. A nice way to end a fantastic story.

Book Review: The Enticement by: Tara Sue Me

Today is the day for the release of "The Collar". As if you guys couldn't tell, I'm very excited for this release. I pre-ordered it, so I will have it today. I can't wait to finish the book I'm currently reading so I can start it.

Synopsis: Goodreads

Limits were made to be pushed.

Abby West has everything she wanted: a family, a skyrocketing new career, and a sexy, Dominant husband who fulfills her every need. Only, as her life outside the bedroom becomes hectic, her Master’s sexual requirements inside become more extreme. Abby doesn’t understand Nathaniel’s increased need for control, but she can’t deny the delicious way her body reacts to his tantalizing demands…

Between Abby’s reluctance and Nathaniel’s unyielding commands, the delicate balance of power between the Dominant and his submissive threatens to shift. And as the underlying tension and desire between them heats up, so does the struggle to keep everything they value from falling apart

Review: (5 stars)

I loved The Submissive trilogy and I was happy when I found out that Tara Sue Me was going to write more about Abby and Nathaniel.

We ended with knowing that they had two children. I wanted more of that and I’m glad that we got to. It was fun to see how they managed to get in the playtime they needed when they had other responsibilities and their two children.

Their relationship gets tested a bit when new things happen for Abby and a new character makes an appearance. They go through their fair share of struggles in their marriage, but they make it out better in the end and it was beautiful to see. How struggles can test them, but makes them stronger and more connected.

I do wish that Felicia and Jackson played a bigger part in this book, like they did in the other books, along with Elaina and Todd. They are a big part of their lives and I wanted to see more of what has been going on in theirs than we got the chance to.

I really enjoyed this book. Other aspects of BDSM were explored and I liked seeing how the characters went about it. I can’t wait to see where things will go next to these two and their family.

I bought the Target edition of this book because only their edition had the novella "The Chalet" in the back of the book and I had to have that. I don't go to Target even, but I made a special trip to get this. The good thing was that I had a gift card for Target that a friend of mine gave me for Christmas, so I was able to use that to get this.

I hope you enjoyed this review.

Pet additions.

My very first post was about introducing all of the small pets I have. I then made a post about one of them passing away. Today, I'm here to finally introduce two new members. I have had them since the beginning of March or the end of February. They were born Janurary 30th. They are still just babies. If you follow me on Instragram, then you may already know about them. This is one of the very first photos of them. The day I received them, I believe. Looking at it now makes me go 'aww' because of how small they used to be.

This is my brother holding them. I have named them Damon and Stefan. If any of you have watched The Vampire Diaries, then you know where I have gotten their names from. I wanted brother names, so I went with theirs. Damon is the one on the left and Stefan is on the right. Damon is bigger than Stefan is. I find it funny,

This is the most recent photo I have of the boys. It was one of the times I had them out running around my bed. Stefan is funny when he is out. Reason being is when a cat jumps onto my bed, he likes to play with them. Mostly with the girl (will be making a post about my cats, so look out for that) and she doesn't mind at all. She loves all of my small pets.

I love having rats as pets. They are very intelligent creatures. They are fun and affectionate as well. I have had rats since 2007 and have not been without at least one since then. At one point I had six of them at once. Right now, I have my two boys and one girl Missy. I think they are great pets to have for anyone.

Does anyone have a pet rat? Or have you ever considered having a pet rat?

Book Reivew: The Chalet by: Tara Sue Me

I know I'm posting two in one day, but the fifth book comes out very soon and I want to have all the reviews up for the previous books to be up before it comes out.

Synopsis: Goodreads

Submitting her body was only the beginning.

Abby King didn’t know true passion until she gave herself to Nathaniel West, one of New York City’s most eligible bachelors and desired Dominants. Now, on the eve of her marriage, she realizes all her dreams are coming true. And with a romantic honeymoon getaway planned at a secluded Swiss chalet, she’s sure Nathaniel will find even more fantasies to fulfill…

Nathaniel never thought he’d settle down until Abby broke down his barriers and changed his plans. With their wedding only weeks away, he can barely wait to possess her completely—heart, body, and soul—and show her the true meaning of being both a wife and a submissive.

Only Abby has one more challenge in store before she becomes his: no sex and no collar for one month before the wedding. Nathaniel is willing to give it a shot but he has one scandalous stipulation—once that month is up, anything goes…

Review: (4.5 stars)

I don’t buy Kindle books because I have a hard time concentrating on the story, but when I saw this was only in that form I had to get it either way. This dealt with their wedding and I couldn’t pass up not reading it.

I like being able to have both Abby and Nathaniel’s point of view. We get more out of the situations they are in. Abby’s chapters were longer than Nathaniel’s chapters, but that didn’t bother me. I like that we got to be with the bride more and seeing her going through the motions of planning her wedding.

The only thing that did really bother me was, I would have liked to have been able to read more about the wedding. It felt rushed in my opinion. It really focused on their honeymoon. I didn’t mind that, but reading about the wedding was what I was looking forward to.

I liked being able to read about their wedding and honeymoon. I think it helped the characters as well with having gotten married. Both of their relationships they have with each other I think grew because they both know that they are together in every way they can be. This was a beautiful story.

Book Review: The Training by: Tara Sue Me

Time for another review to "The Submissive" series.

Synopsis: Goodreads

It started with a hidden desire.

Millionaire CEO Nathaniel West has always played by his own strict set of rules, ones he expects everyone to follow—especially the women he’s dominated in his bedroom. But his newest lover is breaking down all his boundaries and rewriting his rule book.

Abby King never imagined that she would capture the heart of Nathaniel West, one of New York City’s most eligible bachelors—and its most desirable dominant. What began as a weekend arrangement of pleasure has become a passionate romance with a man who knows every inch of her body and her soul – yet remains an enigmatic lover. Though he is tender and caring, his painful past remains a wall between them.

Abby knows the only way to truly earn his trust is to submit to him fully and let go of all of her lingering inhibitions. Because to lead Nathaniel on a path to greater intimacy, she must first let him deeper into her world than anyone has ever gone before…

Review: (5 stars)

This is a continuation of The Submissive and The Dominant. It picks up right where those two ended.

Instead of being in Abby’s point of view or being in Nathaniel’s point of view, we are in both. Some chapters are through Abby, while some are in Nathaniel’s. I enjoyed the mixture of the both. At some points I wished we could have switched perspectives during certain events, but in the end having a combination of both was very good for reading about these characters. Being able to see through both of their eyes, we get to explore their relationship a bit more for the both of them.

The plot focuses on Abby and Nathaniel starting their Dom/Sub relationship over again and them figuring out what works and what doesn’t.

Paul and his wife Christine made an appearance when Abby and Nathaniel visit them. I am glad that they were part of the story more and that we got to see how they balance their Dom/Sub relationship, but also their love relationship.

Not only do we get to see how they make it work, but we go even deeper into the Dom/Sub community. Nathaniel takes Abby to a party so she can see how others play. This installment was more informative about these types of relationships. It went into more detail.

This was originally a trilogy, but now there are more books coming out because of this, the epilogue wasn’t really an ending. If it stayed a trilogy, it would have been a cute ending to a great trilogy. I’m looking forward to see how Tara Sue Me will write the next books since the epilogue was sent into their future. Hopefully, things will come together nicely. I would like to see the other books lead up to their future from this epilogue.

New Releases. (2015)

I came up with the idea to post a list of the books that will be coming out for the rest of the year that I want to get. I may not be able to buy all of them, but I will try my best to do so. At least it isn't a long list, so it shouldn't be too hard to buy the ones that I want to. Especially since they are pretty spread out when they are released.

June

July
September
October
  • Carry On by: Rainbow Rowell (October 6, 2015)
November
  • Queen by: Aimee Carter (November 24, 2015)
December
  • Oblivion by: Jennifer L. Armentrout (December 2015)

Not too many books, since I'm just getting ones in series that I own. I have myself on a ban and I have been pretty good about it. But I plan on pre-ordering 6 of these because I love the series that they are a part of very much and I have no control over not buying them. Do any of you want to buy any of these?

Life Update: 6/27/15

Hello! How have you guys been doing?

I wanted to take a moment and give some updates. Life is crazier than usual at the moment. I'm super stressed due to many reasons and my depression is making itself known again. I'm trying to read and do my school work, but all I feel like doing is sleeping. My sleeping schedule is all messed up again and that makes me feel even worse.

For so long, I have been working on myself by myself, but I can't do it alone anymore. Things have become too much and I need help. I'm currently looking for a therapist who can help me. While looking for a therapist, I'm trying to find a job and saving up to buy my first car.

I have been pushing myself so much with school work that I can't concentrate on it at the moment. I have taken a break from it and focusing on finishing the book I'm reading before the end of the month. I'm ahead in my school work, so I can take some time off from it and focus on other things and get them straightened out and balanced.

Life is a balancing act. New things come into your life and you have to find a way to balance it all. Whether it is a new job, a new friend, a partner, school, etc. Balancing is key. I'm not the greatest at balancing all things, but I try my best to. If it becomes too much I get super flustered and take a step back. I'm better at putting too much onto my plate at once than balancing it all.

One of the things I'm trying to balance better is this blog. I have so many topics I want to post about, but it's hard to find the time and motivation to post them. I used to post so frequently and that made me happy to do so and now I barely post and that bothers me. I'm going to try my best to get back to posting more regularly.

One last thing I want to talk about is what happened yesterday (6/26/15) while I was sleeping. That is that gay marriage is now legal in all 50 states. It made me so happy to wake up to such wonderful news. Share the love!

I hope everything is going well for all of you. If they aren't going too well, just know that in time they will get better. Though I'm going through a lot and it seems that it won't get better for me, I know that it will with effort and time. It always does. Keep smiling!

Movie Review: Jurassic World

I grew up with the Jurassic Park movies, so I had to go out and watch this. Plus, Chris Pratt was in it and that gave me more motivation to watch it. I love him.

I loved this movie. If you have seen any of the Jurassic Park movies, then I'm sure you would love this. I found it to be a nostalgic movie since I did grow up with them.

We are in an age where we are able to step up the effects in movies and boy did they ever. The dinosaurs looked great and I loved looking at each species that were a part of this movie. I don't want to go into detail with them if you haven't seen it, but there was one in the water, which is my favorite of them all besides the Raptors.

I loved the Raptors right away. Chris Pratt's character was their alpha and he cared for each of them. While they cared for him too. You could see such a connection between them all. I found it to be beautiful. Towards the end of the movie they become a bigger part of what happens.

One thing I really did love that this movie showed was that making your own dinosaur has major consequences. That you shouldn't just cook something up in a lab. You don't know what would happen and this movie showed what could.

Chris Pratt was wonderful. He has become one of my favorite actors. For the other actors and actresses, the boys and their aunt were just as wonderful. It's good to see acting done well.

Not only was this movie action packed, but also it had its comedic moments. Those moments helped make the movie better.

If you loved the Jurassic Park movies or dinosaurs in general, then I recommend that you see this. You won't regret seeing it in my own opinion. I had such a good time going out with friends to see this.

Book Review: The Dominant by: Tara Sue Me

It's that time to post my review for the second book in "The Submissive" series by Tara Sue Me. The other day I found out that next February there is going to be a 7th book in this series. I got so happy when I found that out. Onto the review:

Synopsis: Goodreads

Nathaniel West doesn’t lose control.

As the playboy CEO of West Industries, he governs the boardroom during the day; as a strict dominant with exacting rules, he commands the bedroom at night. He never takes on inexperienced submissives, but when Abigail King’s application comes across his desk, he breaks his own restrictions and decides to test her limits.

Abby’s combination of innocence and willingness is intoxicating, and Nathaniel is soon determined to collar her as his own. As long as she follows his orders and surrenders herself fully to him, no one will get hurt.

But when Nathaniel begins falling for Abby on a deeper level, he realizes that the trust must go both ways—and he has secrets which could bring the foundations of their entire relationship crashing down...

Review: (5 stars)

I was apprehensive when I started this because I didn’t know how I was going to like it.

This is 'The Submissive' told in Nathaniel’s point of view. Once I started, I left my previous thoughts behind.

I really enjoyed being able to see things through Nathaniel’s eyes. We got a sense of who he is as a person when he was with his friends and his family. He may seem all put together on the outside, but on the inside, he still hasn’t fully grown into the man he is because of issues from his past.

Abby helps him realize that he needs help when she left him. His cousin and mentor were there to get him out of the place he went when she left and got him to get himself back on track.

Being able to hear his thoughts and his conversations with those he knows, it shows how much he really cares for Abby. His feelings are put to the test a lot, from when she got into a car accident to the point where she left. He has a lot of inner struggles with himself when it comes to Abby and I liked being able to see that.

One character that appeared I enjoyed seeing was Nathaniel’s mentor Paul. I loved him from the first time we met him. Paul doesn’t take anything from Nathaniel and is there for him when he messed up and helped him to realize what he needed to do. Not only that, but also to talk him how relationships like theirs can change when they turn to be romantic.

I was able to empathize with Nathaniel and with being able to do so he grew on me more. With Abby and Nathaniel being able to start to fix things between them. I’m looking forward to see how their relationship grows and where it will lead them in the future.

Graduates of 2015!!!!

Just a little note...Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. I have been super busy and because of that very sleep deprived. Between school and home life, I have had no time to do anything, but what I need to do. Even no time to read, which is very sad.

Anyway, that's not what I wanted to talk about today. I wanted to talk about my little brother graduating Tuesday, May 26th. I'm so very proud of him. My mom couldn't make it, but I showed up, a friend I invited to come, my dad, my brother's girlfriend and her mom-mom. I saw his band mates as well.

I had a lot of fun. My friend and dad kept picking on me the whole time, so it was one of the best graduations I have been too. My dad video chatted with my mom the whole time so she could see my brother walk and his friends that we know.

I took some pictures and so did his girlfriends mom-mom and I wanted to show them to you.

I'm so very proud of my little brother making the first big step and graduating from high school. Life hasn't been the greatest to us, but he kept himself together and completed high school. Words can't explain how proud I am of him.

Friends

A topic was brought to my attention last week that I would like to talk about. It is about the time you spend talking to friends.

It may be days, weeks or months before I check up on someone because I'm always busy doing something, but I always check up on everyone. Last week, I pretty much was called a bad friend due to not checking up on someone enough. This got me thinking and examining all the relationships in my life and those I'm surrounded by.

You are not defined by how much or how often you talk to someone, about whether you are a bad friend. That isn't what makes you a bad friend. What makes you a bad friend is not being there for someone when they need you. You can be a good friend by not talking to someone for a while. Look at the relationship my dad has with his best friend. They can go months without talking and one day, one of them will pick up the phone and start talking, as if that time didn't pass.

Everyone has their own lives that they are living, just like I do. I can't be talking to someone constantly and neither can everyone else.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you agree or disagree?
