Movie Review: Batman v Superman:Dawn of Justice

I saw this movie last Friday night and I must say, I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would have.

When I first learned that they were going to be doing a movie with Batman and Superman together, I didn't know what to think. But as things started to come together more and we started seeing the teaser trailers and the then actual trailers, I thought to myself that this may actually be a good movie. 

Now to the part of actually watching it. This is a very long movie, but it doesn't seem like it. You get sucked right in once it starts. Something is constantly happening, so time flies. You don't get bored. 

As you watch quite a few cameos appear. I'm not going to say who, you will just have to watch it to find out. 

For one who hasn't read the comics, but has watched all the Batman movies and watched Smallville, I really enjoyed the movie. I had to have a few things explained to me, but that's okay. Things were changed, but I really didn't mind them. 

Everyone, including me, were concerned about Ben Affleck playing Batman, but I think he is one of the best. Definitely better than Christian Bale. I know a few who agree with me on this matter. 

I really don't have much else to say because I didn't read the comics. I don't have much to go off of besides the little that I do know and have put together. 

One last note, I love both Batman and Superman. I have always been a Batman fan growing up, but started to love Superman once I got into Smallville about two years ago. I belong on both sides.

Movie Review: Deadpool

I'm finally getting around to writing this movie review for you guys, for Deadpool. I know it has been over a month now since I have seen it and since then I have seen it a total of four times (as if that doesn't show how much I love the movie), but here goes...

I'm one for Marvel movies. If it is Marvel, then you know I'm going to go see it somehow. When I found out Ryan Reynolds was going to play Deadpool in his own movie, I definitely had to see it. I freaked out when I learned this information.

Growing up, I didn't read the comics because I have always been more of a book person. Constantly buying books, not comics. My brother is the comic book one in the family. From what he has told me and from how the movie was, I can honestly say, Marvel and Ryan Reynolds did such a great job.

This isn't a one and done type of movie. This is a watch multiple times type of movie and it still never gets old. As I said in the beginning, I have seen it four times already and will continue to watch it again and again.

Between how the movie is set up, the comedic moments and the action, it's a recipe for a great time.

Ryan Reynolds did such an amazing job, that I'm speechless. It was like he was made for this role. He was flawless, if I might add.

I don't want to say anymore about this because I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it just in case. For those who haven't, then you must go see it now. For those who have, what are your thoughts on the movie? Do you agree with me or do you not?

Book Review: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by: Michelle Hodkin

It has been awhile since I posted a book review, so I thought that it is about time that I do so. It has taken me forever to get around to writing this review, but I hope you enjoy anyway.

Review: (3.5 stars)

I kept hearing all about how good the Mara Dyer books were. It seemed everyone loved them, so I decided to give it a shot.

I’m iffy with this book. I liked it, but didn’t love it. I don’t like it, but I don’t hate it either. I’m stuck in the middle. There are moments that I was really into it, but moments where I was annoyed. The plot is what kept me reading because I wanted to know more about Mara and Noah. About what they can do. But that was really the only thing that kept my attention.

Mara in the beginning, I liked her, but then she just turned straight annoying and I couldn’t stand her. I don’t know what happened for me to change my opinion on her, but I became really annoyed with her.

Noah is a different story. I liked him right away and I stayed liking him. Actually, as I continued to read, I liked him more and more.

Overall, I liked it and yet I didn’t. I have my problems with it. I don’t see why it was so hyped about. When I start a series, I finish until I’m done reading every book, but with this one I had to take a break before I get around to the second one. I will finish the series, but I don’t know when I will get back to it yet. It is an interesting read, don’t get me wrong. I hope it gets better in the second book.

Movie Review: Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I'm not the biggest fan of Star Wars and I will admit that I don't know much about it, but I have seen all the previous movies, which led me wanting to see this.

I was finally able to see with my two guy best friends. I'm happy that I got the chance to see it. I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Way more than I thought I would.

I'm not going to go into detail, but it felt good to see the original cast play into this generation of characters. Seeing them in their original roles that I grew up with.

There was one scene that hit me hard. I wanted to scream at it, but there was a couple sitting in front of us, so I had to contain myself.

One character that I now love, which my one best friend is obsessed with, is BB8. He is so freaking adorable. I can see why he is so obsessed with him. For me though, R2D2 is where it will always be at. He will forever be number 1. BB8 is second.

I had one real problem with the movie though. That was the villain. He was the one thing that ruined the movie for me, plus the previous scene I talked about.

Though I really enjoyed the movie, I still have my issues with it, like any fan would. I recommend anyone who wants to see it, to go see it. You will probably have problems with it like I did, but at least you got the chance to see another Star Wars movie after so many years.

Season 7, Episode 10 (Hell Is Other People)

In past posts about this season I mentioned that I miss Elena, but think the show is still good without her. I still stand by this.

I caught up the other day on the new episode since I missed it and I must say, I'm dying to know what is going to happen in this weeks episode.

The entire episode had me on the edge of my seat. Trying to find out what is going to happen next to Damon. He is my favorite character, so I had to know if he was going to be okay. I don't know if he will ever fully be okay after what he endured. Due to it, it made him do something that he wouldn't normally do.

The ending made me scream at my TV because I knew I would have to wait a week to find out what will become of what happened.

This show always has something crazy going on and it keeps you glued. At least it keeps me glued and always wanting more.

I can't wait to find out answers. What are your thoughts on this episode?

Meet the Cats.

I know it has been forever since I made a post, but today I'm making a post. I was going to make Christmas posts, but never felt up to it. I hope you enjoy this post though. It has been a very long time coming.

When I first started this blog, I made a post about all the pets that I own myself. I said that eventually I will make one about all the cats that my family has. I'm now taking the time to do just that. Down the road I will make a post about all the other pets my parents have.

The cats are not my animals, like the small animals are. They are the family's. Meaning my parents animals. Which we have 5 of them. They have all been adopted from the SPCA that is close to us.

The first cat we adopted was Dude. We adopted him because at the time we had a dog and a cat, but we had to put the dog down and our cat was lonely, so we got him a companion.

 My dad named him Dude because when we first brought him home all he did was lounge around, so my dad named him after "The Dude" from The Big Lebowski. His nickname is Doodles though.










After our cat passed away, Dude became lonely because they had such a connection. We decided to adopt a companion for him and ended up with two more boys. They aren't brothers, but grew up in the same home together.

Their names are Angus (mostly grey) and Malcom (half white and grey). If any of you guys are AC/DC fans than you would understand their names. My mom is a huge fan of them and named these two after the brothers in the band.










As you can see, we love cats. But we didn't stop there. After having these three for a while, we all came to the conclusion that we wanted to add another cat to the family. It didn't work out like that though. What we ended up with was siblings. A boy and a girl.

Their names are Licorice (the boy, left side) and Jellybean (the girl, right side). Those are the names that they had at the shelter and we liked them due to them being black kitties. Jellybean has a white patch on her tummy and a little on her neck, but Licorice is fully black. My dad, brother and I wanted Licorice and my mom wanted Jellybean, so we got them both and since they were siblings, we couldn't split them up.






They all have such different personalities. Some more devilish than others, but we all love them dearly and bring such joy to us, even at times they annoy us to no end. But that is cats for you. They have it in their minds that they own humans (lol). Here is a picture of all of them eating their dinner together for the first time. It's funny now because they all have their own spots where they eat like this. They still eat in this way, but in different spots and they go to those spots when I give them their breakfast and my brother gives them their dinner.
